On June 2, 2026, the gentle early summer breeze swept through Ningbo. All members of Mianxuan Fastener gathered early and set off for Nanlian Village, Jiangbei District, Ningbo – a destination for our team building retreat. There were no drawings to revise, no orders to chase – just the warmth of being together and the beautiful memories we were about to create.
Let us walk through the timeline and relive this quiet yet powerful team experience.
The coach departed from the company on time. Unlike the usual lively atmosphere, the ride was unusually calm. Some colleagues gazed out at the passing scenery, while others rested their eyes. Everyone was quietly building up their own anticipation for the team building ahead. No one spoke loudly, but smiles hid in the corners of their eyes – we all knew this would be a special day.
Upon arriving at Nanlian Village, everyone took a short break. The fresh air was invigorating, and the lush greenery soothed the soul. The coach stepped forward to introduce the day’s activities and safety notes. Colleagues listened attentively, curious about the challenges ahead.
First activity: Group photo
Under the coach’s direction, everyone lined up in two rows and shouted “Mianxuan” in unison. The shutter clicked – a radiant group photo was forever captured – the first team memory of the day.
First game: Searching for “Golden Hills and Silver Hills.”
Each team received a mission card with clues pointing to several representative scenic spots and cultural corners in the village – the so-called “golden and silver hills.” Teams split up, some running ahead to explore, others carefully reading maps, and some warmly asking villagers for directions. Helping one another, the unfamiliarity gradually melted away.
Second game: Hiking into the village
After finding the “golden and silver hills,” all members started the hike. Along the winding village paths, passing through Chinese bayberry groves heavy with green fruit and bamboo forests, everyone appreciated the pristine rural scenery and encouraged one another. No one fell behind, no one complained – our steps were in sync, and our hearts drew closer.
Birthday stars sing
Reaching the old camphor tree at the heart of the village, the coach suddenly announced, “Birthday stars, please come to the center!” The company had prepared a special segment for colleagues whose birthdays fell in this quarter – a singing performance. From shy to relaxed, each birthday star took the microphone and performed their favorite songs. Some sang classic oldies, others hummed pop tunes, and colleagues down below clapped along and sang together. Singing, laughter, and applause echoed through the ancient village sky.
At noon, everyone moved to a restaurant by Yunhu Lake. Authentic local dishes filled the round tables. Colleagues sat together, raised their glasses, and shared amusing stories from the morning’s hike and games. The atmosphere was relaxed and lively – people from different departments talked about things beyond work, bringing them naturally closer.
As lunch drew to a close, the lights suddenly dimmed. The birthday song played softly, and an exquisite cake was rolled in – the cake was decorated with the Mianxuan logo, and beside it, neatly written, were the names of each birthday star.
“Happy birthday to you…” The whole room sang in chorus. The birthday stars stood in front of the cake, closed their eyes to make wishes, and then blew out the candles together. Applause and cheers erupted, and everyone offered their best wishes. The cake was sweet, but even sweeter were the sincere smiles of our colleagues. At that moment, there were no titles – only family.
The most challenging part of the day came in the afternoon – the Ancient Village Fun Orienteering Mission. Each team received a mission card and dispersed into the old alleys and traditional houses of Nanlian Village. The card listed several checkpoints; at each point, the team had to complete a simple team challenge to earn a stamp.
Every team fielded its own “brain,” “runner,” and “mood maker.” Some studied the map, some took photos for records, and some chatted with villagers. Laughter echoed along the stone paths as teams moved back and forth. There was no intense competition – only mutual support. Every successful checkpoint was met with high-fives and cheers.
After half a day of games and hiking, everyone was somewhat tired. Colleagues gathered under the ancient camphor tree, drinking water, snacking, and sharing photos from the morning. Amid laughter and conversation, hearts grew even closer.
Finally, the whole team regrouped. Against the backdrop of the ancient village bathed in the late afternoon sun, we took the final group photo of the day. The slogan “Mianxuan, let’s go!” soared into the sky, and the camera froze that moment – every face was genuine and radiant.
The coach slowly started its journey back to the company, loaded with joy and precious memories.
This one‑day team building was not filled with complicated activities, but with the simplest of interactions. The quiet expectation inside the bus, the mutual support among bayberry groves and bamboo forests, the sincerity in the birthday stars’ songs, the warmth of names on the cake – these small moments came together to form the most precious team strength of Mianxuan Fastener.
